Privacy Policy

Overview
Peekd (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website peekd.app and the Peekd Chrome extension. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What the Chrome extension collects
The Peekd Chrome extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. When you trigger the extension, it reads the selected text and page metadata (URL, title, author) from the active tab and passes them directly to peekd.app as URL query parameters. No data is sent to our servers by the extension itself.
What the website collects
Currently: The peekd.app website does not require an account and does not collect personal information. The card editor is accessed exclusively through the Chrome extension, which passes data as URL query parameters.
When you create a card, the website’s server-side endpoint fetches the article URL you came from to extract metadata (title, author, date) and a sanitized copy of the article body. The article URL is processed for that single request and is not stored or associated with any user identity.
In the future: We plan to introduce an optional paid Pro tier. At that time we will collect:

In the future: We plan to introduce an optional paid Pro tier. At that time we will collect:
- Email address — to create and manage your account
- Payment information — processed by our payment provider (e.g. Stripe); we do not store raw card details
How we use your data
Any personal data collected in the future will be used solely to:
- Create and manage your account
- Process payments and send receipts
- Send transactional emails (password reset, billing notices)
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to collect aggregate, privacy-friendly page-view statistics (page path, referrer, country derived from IP, device type). Vercel Analytics does not set cookies and does not associate page views with a persistent user identifier. See Vercel’s analytics privacy policy for details.
Third-party services
We use Vercel for hosting and analytics (see above). When a Pro tier is introduced, we will use a payment processor (such as Stripe) that has its own privacy policy. We will list all third-party processors here when applicable.
Data retention and deletion
We retain personal data only as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your data, email us at contact@peekd.app and we will remove it within 30 days.
Children
Peekd is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Peekd after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
